Zero Oil Puff Pastry

Zero Oil, unbelievable right!!! But I made this happen as wanted that way!! So thought taking Ingredients that way :)

This Puff Pastry was again one of my favorite snack with Masala Chai or just keep it as one type of 'Farsaan' :)

So, Chalo Let's look at Ingredients:

1.  Boiled Sprouted Moong - 1/2 cup{ I made it at home)
2.  Boiled Raw Banana - 1
3.  Chopped Coriander leaves
4.  Grated carrot - 1 (Make sure you drain the water out of it)
5.  3-4 tbsp Boiled Green peas
6.  Ginger- chilli Paste as per your taste
7.  Few drops of lime juice
8.  Jeera -1/2 tsp
9.  Salt as per taste
10.  Red chilli Powder - 1 tsp or as per your choice
11.  Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp or as per your choice
12.  2-3 tbsp of shredded coconut (optional)
13.  Dabeli Masala - 2 tsp (I added it as it really tastes excellent, but it is optional)

Method:

Ready made Puff Pastry packet :) Always store it in freezer if not using. Take it out 40 minutes prior making the pastry.

Boiled & Mashed Raw Banana :)

Coriander leaves, Grated Carrot, boiled Green Peas and Boiled sprouted Moong

Mix Mashed raw bananas and other ingredients. Then add all spices into it. Give it a good mix, infact very good mix :)

Sprinkle some flour on the tray and then sprinkle some flour on the Pastry sheet.

Cut as above or in the shape you want. But remember, cut it in the size so that filling can be put on. :)

Apply water on the corners just like Samosas to cover the sides.

Take the fork and just poke in between so that heat is passed and it is cooked well. You can also design it from corner as shown in below picture.

At the same time, preheat the oven on 425F.

Once oven is preheated, put the tray inside and bake it for 15-20 minutes keeping an eye on it on not becoming dark. Flip it other side after one side is brown depending on how eary it turns brown.

Take it out in cooling rack and serve hot or cold as required :) :)

Let me know while making if you are stuck. I will be happy to help you :) Till then,

Happy Cooking :)

  1. It's not really oil free if you are using puff pastry sheets. It has lots and lots of oil and butter which makes up for the oil you didnt use in the masala and even more.
