Basket Chaat

Baskets are really wonderful! Tried for first time and I am excited to share it with you all :) Turned out amazingly well, crispy and wonderful :)

Indian Food is a cuisine where we can modify anything anywhere and whichever part of the world you are staying! Presenting this Baskets this time :) These are great option to serve as starter or snacks :) :)

Ingredients for the dough:
  • 1 Cup - All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1/4 cup - Semolina (Sooji)
  • 1/2 tsp - Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - Oil
  • 1/4 Cup - Chilled Water
Method:
In a large bowl, sieve all dry ingredients well. Now add oil and mix all the ingredients forming a crumbling mixture.
Now slowly add chilled water and form a medium stiff dough just like Locha Puri. Cover it with a lid for around 1 hour
After resting period, knead dough for around a minute and divide it in 4 balls.  Roll one ball with the help of Rolling pin and cut it in the desired shape with the cutter.
Roll again the cut shape and then put it on the outer side of the Katori
The size of the dough will depend on the size of the pan you used if baking.
If you frying, then directly put the katori inside the heated Kadhai. Katori will remove automatically from the dough and will start frying.  Fry on a medium heat till they are brown :) :)

Stuffing:  You can add the stuffing of your choice.  I used Sprouted Moong (Green Moong), Tomatoes, Coriander Chutney, Imli - Khajur Chutney, Thin Sev, chaat masala and coriander leaves.

Please feel free to write to me for any queries.

Happy Cooking!
