Chocolate Marble Burfi

Chocolate Burfi is the famous sweet and is liked by Adults as well as Kids :) You can grab few in the box while in the picnic, having party at home and is so much easy to make.




Usually it is made by Khoya (Mawa) but here in USA we don't get enough of the good quality Mawa so we use Milk Powder along with the Heavy Whipping Cream.

Lets' look at the Ingredients:  (This will make around 15 pieces small ones!)

For White Layer

  • 1 1/4 cup - Milk Powder
  • 1 cup - Heavy Whipping Cream 
  • 1-2 tsp - Cardamom Powder
Method:
  • Take a wide bottom pan and grease it with 1 tbsp of ghee. 
  • Pour the Milk powder and heavy whipping cream in the pan and switch on the gas. Stir continuously till it become like a soft dough. You need to play around with the medium to low heat. 
  • Once it forms like a dough, turn off the gas and let it cool down completely. 

Mawa Dough

Sugar Syrup:
  • 1/2 cup - Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup - Water
Method:
  • Mix both of them together and continuously stir till it forms bubbles. Don't make it too thick. It will become thick once it cools down completely.

For Chocolate Layer:
  • 1 1/4 cup - Milk Powder
  • 1 cup - Heavy Whipping cream 
  • 2 tbsp - unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp - rose essence (optional)
Method:
  • Take a wide bottom pan and grease it with 1 tbsp of ghee. 
  • Pour the Milk powder, heavy whipping cream and optional rose essence in the pan and switch on the gas. Stir continuously till it become like a soft dough. You need to play around with the medium to low heat. 
  • Once it forms like a dough, turn off the gas and let it cool down completely. 



Next Steps...

  • Once both white and chocolate mawa and sugar syrup cools down, you can add the sugar syrup separately in both  (taste it in between on how sweet you need) and cardamom powder in white mawa. 
  • Grease a tray with ghee and first pour the white layer. Refrigerate it for 20 minutes. 
  • Now pour chocolate layer on to it, garnish them with dry fruits (I used Cashews, Pista and almonds) Refrigerate again for 20 minutes. 




How to make Marble balls:
  • Take out from the refrigerator (it will be little hard) and take a small piece like dough in hand and form it like a circle as shown in the below picture. It will give you very beautiful design.
